DOMUS Restoration and Conservation Fassa Bortolo international Award. Historical Pre-existences and Architecture X Edition - Call for entries 2024-2025
The Department of Architecture of the University of Ferrara is pleased to announce the registration opening for the 10th edition of the International Prize' Domus Restoration and Conservation Fassa Bortolo'. Historical Pre-existences and Architecture - The thesis Projects section from this year is enriched by the specific 'Historical Pre-existences and Architecture'. This event pursues the objective of making known to vast public works of architecture that have understood conservation as a cultural necessity and have been able to enhance historical pre-existences while respecting their authenticity as stratified palimpsests through a conscious design culture.
As of 2020, the Special Award - Digital BIM Technologies will be added to the initiative, a section dedicated to those theses (Master's, School of Specialisation, Master's and Doctorate) developed through the use of methodologies, tools, protocols, systems, etc. inherent to BIM and held at the same time as the Fassa Bortolo International Domus Restoration and Conservation Award—historical Pre-existences and Architecture - Thesis Projects section.
The Prize is open to individual participants or groups who have discussed a "Thesis' in the last 5 years at the end of their studies in degree courses in Architecture or Engineering-Architecture or equivalent training courses. The total prize money for this edition is € 8,000, while the Special Prize alone will be € 1,000.
We want to remind you that the deadline for registration to the competition is 12 December 2024, and the deadline for digital submission of entries is 16 January 2025.
